Catching Fire is the second book in the Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins. As the sequel to the young-adult novel The Hunger Games, it features a lot of the same characters!
It’s hard to narrow it down to just a few, but I’ll give it a try.

- Katniss Everdeen - Katniss is definitely the main character in the Hunger Games trilogy. In a cruel turn of events, Katniss enters the arena again – only this time, there can only be one winner.
- Peeta Mellark – In Catching Fire, Peeta returns to the arena to represent District 12 alongside Katniss. They might have been pretending to be in love in the last novel, but romance truly does begin to blossom in this book - despite the strains of the tournament.
- Haymitch Abernathy - Haymitch won the Hunger Games in his youth, and because of this, it's his job to coach Katniss and Peeta. Haymitch turned to alcohol after he left the arena, as the experience was so traumatizing and upsetting for him. He's been a drunk ever since.
- Finnick Odair and Mags - Finnick is a 24-year-old tribute from District 4, and Mags is his 80-year-old trainer.
- Beetee and Wiress – two older, exceptionally smart tributes from District 3.
- Johanna Mason - a sarcastic older victor from District 7.
