From the removal of his mask. Benvolio hears from a servant, about a feast Capulet is giving for Paris, to woo Capulet's daughter Juliet. Benvolio persuades Romeo, and their friend Mercutio, to "gatecrash" the feast, which they do, wearing masks to hide their identities. Then, Romeo glimpses Juliet dancing, and removes his mask to get a better view, to be recognised by Tybalt.
