I quote from 'The Oxford Shakespeare', Romeo. Of the family, Montague, is at a feast given by Lord Capulet in order that Capulet's kinsman, Paris, may woo Juliet, Capulet's young daughter. Seeing Juliet dancing, Romeo is struck rigid by her beauty, and exclaims his delight! Tybalt, nearby, hears and recognises his voice, is incensed that a Montague should be in the house, and sends for his rapier! Capulet, seeing his consternation enquires, " Why, how now kinsman? Wherefore storm you so?"  Tybalt declares that a Montague is in the house, but Capulet overrides Tybalt's anger, Tybalt, still furious, declaims against the shame, whereby powerful Capulet says,"Go to, go to, thou art a saucy boy, Is't so indeed----- You are a princox, (pert youth), go, be quiet or, I'll make you quiet!" Tybalt, abashed, slinks away, but not before muttering, "Patience perforce with wilful choler (anger) meeting/Makes my flesh tremble in their different greeting/ I will withdraw, but this intrusion shall/ Now, seeming sweet, convert to bitt'rest gall".

When tybalt is ready to seize romeo and throw him out of the party his uncle , the old lord capulet, would not suffer him to do any injury at that time, both out of respect to his guests, and because romeo had borne himself like a gentleman , and all tongues in verona bragged of him to be virtuous and well-governed youth.
