Robert William Word (1889 to 1979) was an extremely popular English artist who is regarded as America’s best landscape painter. Most of his original works are held in private collections now and are extremely valuable; in cases over one million dollars.

He is known for the massive amount of reproductions that were made based on his work. A reproduction will only fetch around $50, but any original signed painting, depending on size and format, could be worth anything from $1,000 right through to $40,000.

You will, of course, need an appraisal to validate the work and confirm it is genuine. www.robertwood.net/signatures.html lists the signatures Word used most; this should help give an indication of legitimacy. This is no substitute for an appraisal though as a good forgery will have a good signature.

If it's an original it could be a million bucks.  If it's a print, it's probably only worth $20.

I am going out on a limb here, but I think the actual title is "Where Mountain and Sky Meet" or "Where Mtn and Sky Meet" instead of Min.

Robert Woods was a prolific American Painter and traveled all around the country.  He lived in Texas, California and Oregon as well as New York State.  He was a landscape painter.

According to the website www.robertwood.net, the title you are seeking information on is a reproduction, not an original.

The website above has a lot of info about the artist, his life and his work.  There is also a link to an appraiser that specializes in Robert Wood paintings, as well as information to help in determining whether you have an original or a reproduction.

Prints are not really worth anything .  It is only originals which will be worth anything worthwhile .

I have a very large painting signed by Robert Wood, its not a print you can see and feel all the brush strokes and tell its on canvas and not that cardboard prints are done on. But I'm not sure if its a reproduction or not. Its very nice though. I think we have two by him.

I have a Robert Wooda painting that is named Winter; it has the number 412 on it and has his signature on the front. However it did mention on the back printed.
Would you be so kind as to advise me the value of this picture if any; it is quite old and I plan on framing it for its beauty.
Thank you in advance for your co-operation;I look forward to hear from you.
