Its a superstition that if you say Macbeth in the theatre then you will be cursed like injury or death. It has happened to a few people I know but I don't know if its true or not.
Some examples:
One guy said it and he became blind, (he was allergic to the make up)
My friend said it and she was moving lockers around and they fell on her (she's fine)
My teacher said it and she had a nail go through her foot.

In 1936, an Haitian acting company acted Macbeth in New York.
They acted it after the state of voodoo! the infamous cult haitians are involved with.
The New York Daily News' theatre critic panned the whole thing! Next week, he was found dead in his apartment!

Its bad luck. I was in hamlet recently and before a performance someone said Macbeth. The next day, laertes forgot his pants, polonius lost the spirit gum (to glue the infamous beard to his face), ophelia's dress ripped, my dress ripped, my gloves ripped in half (both of them), etc

don't
say
macbeth
anywhere
near
a theater

Because if you do, you will explode and your friends will burst into flames and the entire cast of the show will start vomiting goldfish.

Yes, it is a name that provokes many bad things around the speaker. The funny thing is though, this Shakespearean actor instead of calling it Macb****  says ' the scottish play'.
He gave an example of  a show in which a lady was playing lady M and was (though it wasn't in the script) about to KILL HERSELF! Terrified he was...
