Thumbelina was a fairy tale that was written by the Dutch author Hans Christian Anderson in the year 1835. He is well known for his short stories an especially his fairy tales. The story is quite similar to that of Tom Thumb and it’s about a little girl who is very tiny and emerged form the flower of a magical plant. It narrates her story when she leaves the comfort of her home and her journey on which she meets many friends and foes till she finds her perfect prince. Hans Christian Anderson used the fairy tale characters to narrate what happens to people who are different and ho they suffer because of this. The story has been made into animated films as well.
