You don't need to write a letter you just need to call the bank and just to be safe have the cancel the old one in case someone finds it and trys to use it. If you have a atm card with the same account there should be a 24 hour number to call on it. If you don't have a card do a google search for your bank and there should be a number to all on their web page. You need to do this now.
