Donalbain is the son of King Duncan, who is murdered by Macbeth. He, and his elder brother, Malcolm, decide to flee when the murder is discovered, to avoid suspicion, thereby confirming the suspicion!  Donalbain goes to Ireland, Malcolm to England where he invokes the help of the English King, (Edward the Confessor), in bringing about the fall of Macbeth.
