"These deeds must not be thought/ After these ways. So, it will make us mad". She is calming him down, unconcerned that he has murdered. He is in a state of near madness, being a thoroughly "nice" fellow, now he has committed murder, in a relatively short space of time, and his remorse is recognised by his strong minded wife.
