Shadow Kiss is written by Richelle Mead and is a vampire novel and third in the series. The book follows Frostbite and was a New York Times bestseller. Rose Hathaway is the main character of the book and it follows her journey in her education to become a guardian. Rose has a romantic affair with her tutor, Dimitri, and this forbidden relationship eventually turns into love.
Like most vampire books there is a dark twist to the novel. The immortal undead want revenge for the lives that Rose has taken and Rose has an impossible decision to make as she chooses between her love, her life and her two closest companions who are the most important people in her life. This dramatic climax is the highlight of the novel.
