Sylvia Plath, who was born on 27th October, 1932 was a very well known American poet, novelist, short story writer, and essayist. However, she did not live for long and died at a very young age of 30. She passed away on February 11, 1963, by committing suicide.
Sources claim that she gassed herself in her very own kitchen. Her body was discovered only the next day by a regular nurse and a construction worker. Some claim that it was Assia's pregnancy with Ted's child, was the reason to her suicide. But sadly, Assia terminated her pregnancy very soon. She now lies in the graves of churchyard of St Thomas a Becket & St Thomas the Apostle at Heptonstall, West Yorkshire. It was only after this entire incident that she rose to an iconic status.
