How is sculpture different from painting?

Sculpture is a part of art that involves molding, shaping, carving prime materials such as wood, stone, metal, clay  into decorative things such as statues and similar objects. It's like the 3D of art.

Painting uses canvases, on which the artist paints with colors such as pastels, oil paint, watercolors, acrylic paint, in order to recreate an image (from reality or from his imagination). This is the 2D form of art, next to drawing(which has no water/oil-based color on it).
