Visiontoamerica.org    Dumbing Down of America continues and the media are a bunch of idiots as per the norm....Over the past week or so, the MSM has been all over Sarah Palin for claiming that Paul Revere’s ride had been to warn the British that they weren’t going to take away the weapons of armed Americans. They called her stupid. Over the following days the stupidity of the media became evident. Not only was Sarah Palin right, but the media (and most schools) view Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s poem about Paul Revere’s ride as history and that’s basically it. That’s not to say Longfellow’s poem is wrong, but when there is a primary source to view from the man who actually rode the ride, that trumps the secondary account. There is a letter that Paul Revere wrote in 1798 that details the entire ride and in it he mentions warning the British that they wouldn’t be able to disarm the Americans.

Excellent answer.
Motto is, perhaps: Always try to go to the original source rather than looking at second-hand sources of information

I like Sarah because she speaks her mind and the media hates her. But, the most important reason is because she had her baby knowing that the fetus had issues. Abortion NEVER crossed her mind and that tells me SHE has morals. To be honest, I am worried for her to become the President...it may make her haggardly in appearance like it has BOTH Clintons, Obama and Bush...lol

He was an American Patriot during the American Revolution and was used as an express rider to carry news and messages to New York and Philadelphia. In April 1775, he undertook the "midnight ride" to warn the people in the Boston area that the British troops were embarking at Boston's harbour bound for invasion. This early warning system alerted the local militia who defeated the British at the ensuing Battle of Lexington Green.

Very good. Thank you. Seems, Janey, that you have a much better grasp of the facts of American History than the miserably-informed Sarah Palin.

Look it up at wikipedia, Tony.  He was warning the Colonials (Americans) that the Redcoats (British troops) were headed their way.  (Definitely NOT what Sarah Palin said).

That is incorrect....The media has aplogized for their blunder. The Americans were British....at THAT time.....she said it right...it was just the way she said it.There was nothing in her sentence that indicated..."give up ur right to bear arms. Sorry!!
Please note...I am NOT a Sarah Palin fan...but, Donald Duck would be better than what we currently have.

Karen: Thank you for your enlightenment in this matter...we British have a rather LONG history, and it's not always been good but we are stuck with it, unfortunately.
Meanwhile: DONALD DUCK for American President, lol!

Well, there are millions of Women who hate her....but those women are jealous cows....which is usually the problem when women are involved. Sara dresses nicely and carries herself well. Any educated person should love her.
