• Unfortunately 'Push' is copyrighted material and would only be online if the author or her publishing company decided to make it so. Any unauthorized version that is online is breaching copyright law meaning whoever uploaded it could face legal action.

• 'Push' is the debut novel by Californian author Sapphire. She is also an accomplished performance poet and sometimes known by her real name Ramona Lofton. The novel deals with many hard hitting social issues such as child abuse, incest, rape, AIDS and teenage pregnancy. It also addresses the problems of education, or lack of, and literacy in inner-city America.

• In 2009 'Push' was adapted for the cinema by screenwriter Geoffrey S Fletcher. The film adaptation took the name 'Precious' after the lead character in the book version. Directed by Lee Daniels the film features newcomer Gabourey Sidibe in the title role, a performance that earned her an Academy Award nomination. The film gained massive critical success with a further five Oscar nominations including Best Picture and Best Director. On the night the feature came away with two gongs; one went to Mo'Nique for Best Supporting Actress, to go with her Golden Globe and SAG Award, and one for Geoffrey Fletcher for Best Adapted Screenplay.

• If you would still like to find a book online for free why not try the Gutenburg Project (http://www.gutenberg.org). They have tens of thousands of books for you to read. They're mostly classics so why not start there.
