A sonnet is a poem which is rhyming and small with a precise formation consisting of fourteen rows.

Conversely a stanza is a division within a bigger poem often referred to as a verse in music. Stanza comprises of lines frequently having a particular outline of rhyme.

On the other hand a ballad is a song generally set to music having an anecdote within it. Any story can be enlightened in a ballad varying from chronological accounts or fairy tales in lines.

Where as a passage can be including a prologue, verse and finale in music or a set of verses making an entity appropriate for public comprehension from a transcript, referred to as sacred scripture.
