The power clip effect provides the designers to crop the object or text or images in CorelDraw. The power clip effect is similar to masking effect in Macromedia Flash. If we have any image or object and want to have only the specific portion visible then we need to use the power clip effect.
In power clip we have two objects. First is the container and the other is the object which will be placed inside that container. We can have up to five levels of power clip. To use the power clip, draw any object, text, shape or insert any image. Now draw the shape for the power clip. Select the original object and from the menu bar select the Effects -> Power Clip -> Place inside container. The mouse pointer will be changed, now click on the container object. The original object will placed inside the container.
We can edit the object inside the container. For this select container and from menu bar select Effects -> Power Clip -> Edit power clip. The inside of the container will be shown and we can edit the contents of that power clip. We can change its position as well. This effect is very useful when we want to show some portion of the object instead of whole object.
