I am currently writing a book that involves the military and I want to be as accurate as possible when writing how they speak and act. In one of the scenes this military unit infiltrates a mafia compound. It's a raid, but they are also looking for a specific person who is in fact the main character. So, of the lines I put in there when they found him was "I got my eyes on the subject matching that description now." as if he is talking to someone on a headset that we can't here. In military terms does what I have him say sound right? Also when they have deemed that the main character is not a threat would the say something like "No threat" or something else? Any other pointers or hints would also be appreciated. www.wattpad.com/story/136233864-leaving-darkness This is the link if anybody wants to check it out.

I am presuming you are talking American military. Unless the mafia person is dealing in terrorism somehow, the military would not be raiding his compound. It would be the CIA or Interpol if off American soil, and the FBI 0r NSA if on American soil. And even if he was involved in terrorist activity, unless he was in a warzone, it still would not be the military invading the compound.
