I am trying to track down a book I read ages ago, but I can't remember the author or title. I know its a long shot but any ideas on how to find it would be much appreciated. Can anyone help?

You are right about it being a long shot! However, having said that you can try and remember the Protagonist and the Main character's names. This will narrow your search a lot. Then try remembering the plot or theme.. What the story is about.. If you remember that and post it maybe someone will be able to help you!!

Hope this helps!

Talk about looking for a needle in a haystack!

No author, no title - should mean no chance of ever finding out what the book was.

But all is not lost - at least not 100% lost, if you are prepared to spend some time trawling round some internet sites.  You will need to dredge up some information from your memory though!

Where was the story set?

When was the story set?

Who was the main character?

What was the genre - detective, romance, war, history? etc etc

You could start with looking at  Bookfinder.com

A Book Price Comparison box comes up - asking for author, title etc.  Just ignore those and click on Show more options at the bottom of the box. You’ll see a Keywords box. This is where you put your informatiion.

e.g I’m looking for a book about a lawyer, he’s a hunchback, lives in london.  I put these words in the keywords box and ...Nothing!  Try again.

I remembered his name was Matthew - so Keywords - lawyer, hunchback, london, matthew and ...up comes  a couple of books by C.J. Sansom!  Brilliant now I’ve found my book.

You could also try Google Books.

This is a very easy search.  I tried my first 3 keywords  - lawyer, hunchback, london and I did find my book - although I had to persevere and keep scrolling down.

It depends on how keen you are to find that book - but I’m sure you will if you keep trying.
