Here's a short one:

"When darkness falls and we're apart
Can love heal this lonely heart
I love you dearly that I do
Sleep is good when dreaming of you
With all my love I give to you
You are so sweet I know not how I'm with you."

Now read the first word of every line.

I would have also added another one but it was way too lengthy. This was the best one that I could find that maintained short length.

I find this poem, "Team Awesome" to be very humorous, perhaps because I wrote it; it speaks to me of a pair united forevers, even though it was written while my husband and I were still in courtship; there was a promise made of longevity, and so these words below evoke a glee within me; perhaps you can find the joy too!

We are Team Awesome.

We nix the vocal chords
and speak in languages unto ourselves,
he and I with our ten fingers moving towards different skills:
he the master of the strings, and I working words accordingly.

We are Team Awesome.

We vouch a spiritual relationship that transmutes the world
around us, and places us each into our own
realm of production, where learning and creating
are just gifts from the creator.

We are Team Awesome.

We strive to present ourselves:
to capture a moment and make it remarkable;
to change a stranger’s life forever;
and render the world different because we existed.

We are Team Awesome.

Oh I love this poem by Shakespeare... It is quite funny yet cruel! Haha!

In faith, I do not love thee with mine eyes,
For they in thee a thousand errors note;
But 'tis my heart that loves what they despise,
Who in despite of view is pleased to dote;
Nor are mine ears with thy tongue's tune delighted,
Nor tender feeling, to base touches prone,
Nor taste, nor smell, desire to be invited
To any sensual feast with thee alone:
But my five wits nor my five senses can
Dissuade one foolish heart from serving thee,
Who leaves unsway'd the likeness of a man,
Thy proud hearts slave and vassal wretch to be:
  Only my plague thus far I count my gain,
  That she that makes me sin awards me pain.

sweet isn't it? But funny too!

Basically means that love surpasses death... It admits no flaw. Love is ever-lasting and it is not perfect. It describes love as what it's not and what it is.

thanked the writer.

Very poetic! Thanks for sharing. Makes me want to read more Shakespeare...
But alas so little time, and fleeting day doth pass me by.
Hark!
What light from yonder iPhone shines? It is the clock, and with its dulcet chimes, reminds me that it's way past slumber time :))

Hi,

I've seen others posting poems from Shakespeare, and just thought I'd show off this famous and hilarious one:

Sonnet 130

My mistress' eyes are nothing like the sun;
Coral is far more red than her lips' red;
If snow be white, why then her breasts are dun;
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head.
I have seen roses damask'd, red and white,
But no such roses see I in her cheeks;
And in some perfumes is there more delight
Than in the breath that from my mistress reeks.
I love to hear her speak, yet well I know
That music hath a far more pleasing sound;
I grant I never saw a goddess go;
My mistress, when she walks, treads on the ground:
And yet, by heaven, I think my love as rare
As any she belied with false compare.

And there's also a hilarious Catherine Tate and David Tennant Comic Relief clip with this poem in it, so yeah, it's not just an old poem...
