My favourite is 'The Perks of Being a Wallflower' by Stephen Chbosky. I have read and enjoyed hundreds of books but this one really captured my heart. Even though I knew that the main character was just a fictitious person, I couldn't help but think about him long after I'd finished the book. Even now, years later I often wonder how Charlie is doing. The film version has just been made but I don't think I'll be able to watch it. The characters exist very clearly in my imagination and I'm not sure I will be able to see them as other people. Plus film versions of books are often disappointing!
