'Lemony Snicket' is a pseudonym for Daniel Handler, author of the 'A Series of Unfortunate Events' books. He has also written some short fiction under the Snicket name.
Daniel Handler decided to use the name 'Lemony Snicket' both as his pen name and the name of his narrating character in 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'.
Daniel is a native san Franciscan. He is a graduate of Lowell High School and graduated from Wesleyan University in 1992. He has pursued careers in books, music and film. He has appeared at author appearances as 'Lemony Snicket's handler' and has appeared as Snicket himself in other books and mediums, including the commentary track for the film version of his books, 'Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events'.
Daniel also made an appearance on the Today show on Friday 13th October 2006, which was the release date of the final Unfortunate Events book. He appeared as Lemony Snicket's representative.
