Mollie leaves the farm in Chapter 5. She is then seen on the other side of Willington (the town where the book is set.) She is pulling a smartly painted red and black dogcart; her coat has been clipped and she is wearing a scarlet ribbon in her forelock. A man is stroking her nose and feeding her sugar; she looks happy.
