If I get what you mean, half of 1/2 cup is 1/4 cup...Mathematically, 1/2 of 1/2 cup = 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/4.

You could paint the rain drops light sky-blue......make the color darker at the curved edges and then let it fade to colorless at the middle of the drop......hope I  helped..
