Pop Art is a movement that emerged in the late 1950s in England and US. It is a form of art that depicts objects or scenes from everyday life and employs techniques of commercial art and popular illustration.

British and American pop artists employed a common imagery found in comic strips, ads, soup cans, and Coke bottles to express formal abstract relationships.

By this means they provided a meeting ground where artist and layman could come to terms with art.
