Thoreau is better known as Henry David Thoreau, is a very well known American author He is the one who is very well known for Walden, which is basically considered to be a reflection of simple living in natural surroundings. Even his essays like Civil Disobedience, are basically a kind of arguments for individual resistance to civil government. His total contributions of books, articles, essays, journals, and poetry are almost over 20 volumes. Some of his latest offerings are his writings on natural history and beliefs. Through his civil disobedience teachings he conveys "I ask for, not at once no government, but at once a better government"— the path of this development aims at anarchism: 'That government is best which governs not at all;' and when men are prepared for it, that will be the kind of government which they will have."
