The microphone they talk into ?
On WW2 ships, what was the bitchbox ? I've heard about it in several books now. Know what it was and why they called it that?
"Now hear this. Now hear this. Sweepers, man your brooms".
I always wanted to hear this: "Now hear this. All hands fore go aft. All hands aft go forward. All hand midships, stand by to direct traffic." Sadly, never did. Bosun Mates have no sense of humor.
