Blast cheesy 80s music, dance  and sing into my hair brush ! Edit : I didn't notice the word " reading " in your question ... I don't know then :)

Any slump that I get into is solved with alcohol.

lol :) I like the way you think ... And you just reminded me it's wine-O-clock. I almost forgot to drink tonight :)

Reading slumps are the worst. Sometimes, it seems like you just can't shake the lack of motivation to read, even if you're a lifelong book-lover who dreams of owning the beast's library from Beauty and the Beast.

Reorganize your shelves
Perhaps you have your TBR (to be read) shelf immaculately organized or maybe you have books everywhere from the basement to the attic, either way, taking a look at the books in your own possession can help break a slump. Flip through your titles, set them in order, and you might just find a volume that sounds so excellent you have to stop what you’re doing and read.

Switch genresMaybe this means returning to your favorite genre for solace or perhaps it means breaking free of your beloved genre for a taste of something new. When reading grows tiresome, a switch in theme and style can be the exact palate cleanser you need to get back in the groove.

Personaly, I try to rest for a while, and then chug away at checking out new books. Mostly I skim their book descriptions. I look for words like action-packed or page-turner so that I know they will hold my interest. The Hunger Games is famous for such intentions. :)

Here is an example of a book description that might grab my attention in a book slump:

"You better watch your back, because we're watching
you."

Three very different teens have
gone to school together for years but only acknowledge each other's existence when
they find themselves mixed up with a dangerous gang. Kickass Amy, nerdy
Charles, and hot jock Zack must find a way to work together or else. After Amy
crosses the gang's leader, she receives threats which she discounts. Little
does she know she has taken on one of the most ruthless supernatural creatures
the world has ever known. This thrilling page turner takes high school drama to
a new level as the teens' every action has drastic consequences. Join these
three heroes as they discover terrifying peril, captivating romance, and the
dark secrets of Amy's past.

Blood Moon’s Fury is an action
packed read guaranteed to have you on the edge of your seat. Chock-full of
unexpected plot twists, witty banter, addictive subplots, and relatable
characters, the story never has a dull moment. This debut novel from Leah
Kingsley is a spectacular new addition to the genre of suspenseful teen drama, which
is embodied by the memorable works of Suzanne Collins, Richelle Mead, and
Elizabeth Chandler. Buy now for an unforgettable read!
