For me it is "The Count of Monte Cristo".

If Shakespeare had written books instead of plays, who knows how brilliant "Macbeth" could have been.

I have so many to choose from and sometimes it can depend on the day. Right now it would either be Les Miserable or The Picture of Dorian Gray. While reading these books I would constantly have to stop because the book would blow my mind. That just doesn't happen very often.

Mrs Didge is fond of telling people that there's a portrait of me at home that gets younger, and more beautiful every day, where as my face, well....

One of my favourite stories too, Dragonfly.

I'll choose three. The 1001 Nights and The Decameron are wonderful, but the stand-out for me is The Lay of the Last Minstrel.

Gosh, it's almost impossible to narrow the field.  A few of my choices would be Oliver Twist, Jane Eyre, The Secret Garden, and the Anne of Green Gables series.
