For me it is "The Count of Monte Cristo".
If Shakespeare had written books instead of plays, who knows how brilliant "Macbeth" could have been.

I have so many to choose from and sometimes it can depend on the day. Right now it would either be Les Miserable or The Picture of Dorian Gray. While reading these books I would constantly have to stop because the book would blow my mind. That just doesn't happen very often.
There would have to be two ! Classics and wonderful reads. To me ? The best !
20,000 Leagues under the Sea .....Jules Verne
Moby Dick.....Herman Melville
Animal Farm
Of Mice and Men
I'll choose three. The 1001 Nights and The Decameron are wonderful, but the stand-out for me is The Lay of the Last Minstrel.
Gosh, it's almost impossible to narrow the field. A few of my choices would be Oliver Twist, Jane Eyre, The Secret Garden, and the Anne of Green Gables series.
