Sometimes but not very often. I read the inside jacket as a lot of book covers can be deceiving.

Personally, no, but many people do. I had the cover of both my books professionally designed and sold the first one on the strength of that alone to booksellers who knew the value of good presentation.

Yes , I usually do in all honesty . I've learned in the past few years that I appreciate what's inside more... But old habits and expectations  die hard and I'm really trying to be less superficial. Trying counts so I give myself 1 and a half points then. Edit : if you're literally talking about books them I read the blurb on the back and judge a book by its blurb ... Blurbs a word I think.

A cover can attract my attention, but very seldom will even a really bad cover stop me.  I grew up reading science fiction, and in my early days mostly pulp magazine SF.  Those covers were almost all terrible - often featuring a BEM carrying away a female in inadequate clothing.  I guess all those covers acted like a vaccination, and now I am immune to bad covers.
