Information, knowledge, education, entertainment.

The Internet has taken on a lot of what used to be a library's functions but ya gotta be careful. There's an awful lot of rubbish posted on it. Don't trust Wiki sites without verification, and never forget the wise words of Abraham Lincoln who warned, "Don't trust everything you read on the Internet."

For me, no amount of technology can replace holding a real book in my hands and diving in.  I can get to know real and fictional people and places .... And it doesn't cost me a cent :)

Well ... there may not be any direct cost ... but if you pay taxes, you do pay for it.

I suppose you're right, but I don't mind. I believe my community has been very well served.
