Very true, thankfully. The quote by Rooney was to infer that some were closed minded to others facts or views.

Actually not taking anything from mr(the cantankerous complainer himself) rooney : ) ,but i heard this a long time ago from billy graham  and judge judy.in tother words if it sounds like the truth it usually is, or if it's the truth you don't have to think if your telling the truth.or iffin  it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck then it's a duck. : )

Well it's probably because generally people trust statistics and facts, because they immediately assume that it has professionally been proven and so therefore they should trust it. But yes, it is psychological people automatically tend to side with facts or other people's opinions when they match their own.
