Actually I've always read that ballet dancers in professional schools had to have a ballet body which I always thought meant that you had to be really skinny... In a lot of schools in Russia the teachers encourage the ballet dancers to lose a lot of weight and then a lot of girls become anorexic.... But that doesnt mean that if you arnt stick-skinny you can't do ballet! But sadly if you look at all the really famous prefessional ballerinas like svetlana zakharova and diana vishneva and polina semionova are very skinny with no hips and flat chests, thats what some ballet teachers encourage their students to look like but I'm NOT saying that I'm encouaging everyone who wants to do ballet to look like that I'm just saying what ive learned on my expeirence and what ive read and done reserch on infact theres a lot of ballerinas that are in companys and they arnt the skinniest people in the world but I know some friends that do ballet and they arnt really skinny but they have fun and thats what dancing is about :) infact if you dance ballet you can get really strong and lose extra body fat that way... :)

You should have muscle but still be lean.  Long torso, small head.  Arched feet.  Weight shouldn't be anything over 130, but it really depends on your body type and whether your muscle weighs a lot.

A ballet body is long hyper-extended legs, High arched feet with a top
bump, long stretchy Achilles tendons, short torso, 180 degree turnout,
long neck, small round head and a great deal of facility.

Also, weight goes as follows 5' tall 85 lbs then 5 lbs more for each inch taller. Many companies like the girls smaller then this though. Most people think ballet dancers have to be tall and that is not true. En pointe she must be no taller then her male partner. They look taller because of their proportions. Most companies don't want dancers over 5'7" or 5'8". Many are 5' or 5' 2" tall, but the average is around 5'4"or 5'5". There are always height exceptions.

Lean muscular arms, great posture, toned legs, and I know for many, once certain moves have been done for so long, a lot of dancers get larger.. Butts.
