Mrs Hudson is the devoted housekeeper of Sherlock Holmes. Her character is that of a charming lady who is a really good, tolerant housekeeper that genuinely likes Mr Holmes. She displays that she knows exactly how and when to use her discretion.
Holmes is supposed to live at 221b Baker Street along with Dr Watson and Mrs. Hudson. In most of the stories written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle it is implicit that it is her skill to withstand Holmes's disorderly habits and his rudeness that allows him to conduct his life in the manner that he does.
There was even a novel written revolving around her called 'Mrs Hudson and the Spirit's Curse' written by Martin Davies. It was published by New York's Berkley Publishing Group in the year 2004. In the books plot, Holmes and Watson endeavour to solve a crime, but it is Mrs Hudson along with her orphan sidekick beat them to it.
