From several countries. The world top wool producers are Australia, New Zealand, China, Argentina, Turkey, Iran, United Kingdom, India, Sudan, South Africa and finally the US (in the states of Texas, New Mexico and Colorado).

Any country that breeds sheep including the USA and Europe.  
Wool is spun from the shearing of sheep.  I know folks who do it by hand and understand the process, but not how it is done by production.  The process by hand is lengthy and tedious requiring a lot of patience.
