How Would You Make A Rose Change Color?

To color flowers, you need some non-toxic food coloring. Do not use any food coloring that you are not sure has been approved by FDA because roses are delicate things and you should only expose them to food colors you would be willing to consume yourself.

Along with that you need some clean water. Now all you have to do is to add the color to the water and make a solution. Then, put the roses in it in such a manner that about half of the length of the stems is submerged in the water solution.

Leave the roses in this manner overnight. The next day, you will notice that the roses have taken up the food color and have turned pale blue or green, depending on which color you used.

It is not very easy to change the color of a rose through a natural processes. However, since you are doing a science experiment, you can use sulfur oxide for changing the color of the rose. Take a red rose and put it in a container of sulfur oxide. This chemical is a strong reducing agent and it will convert the color of the red rose to white by reacting with the red dye in the rose. If you further want to change the color of rose, you can use food color for it by simply putting a few drops of food color to water and then dipping the rose in it.

Put food coloring in water and wait for 1 day I'd say then it will turn that color

I am doing the same experiment and I dipped A red rose a white rise and a pink rose into a small vile of writing ink (Like for caligraphy or chineese writing) and the roses all changed color, but they died really fast. I think it is best if you dip the flower in some sulfur oxide and what ever food coloring you want so that the color will change. The sulfur oxide will kill the original flower color and the food coloring will turn the flower to what ever color you want. (The sulfur might also kill the flower!) lol.

Fill water in cup add few drops ink to it cut the end off the stem of a white flower put the flower in the water containing ink for some time and observe

Put food coloring in water and put the flower(s) in that. It will change color slightly.

You have to cut the rose then put it in colored water. Then the tubers absorb it and change the color

Someone told me to use white roses and mix the food coloring with hot water and put the white roses into hot water and coloring and in one day it will take on the color...then put the in fresh water....L.S
