In The Book The Five People You Meet In Heaven, What Is The Theme? Also, Against Whom Or What Does Eddie Struggle? What Conflicts Does He Face?

The main theme of the book is that all stories are connected. There are mini themes, if you can call them that, within the story. Each lesson can serve as a piece to the main theme. The blue man's lesson was that there are no random acts, that everything happens for a reason, life and death is a bout balance and that one thing leads to another. The captain's lesson was that sacrifice is suppose to be, which goes to no random acts, also you lose something you gain something. Ruby's lesson was mainly about forgiveness, that no one is born with anger, holding anger is a poison and also you must understand why you felt what you did. Marguerite's lesson is mainly about love, lost love is still love and life has to end love does not. Tala's lesson is a recap of all the lesson in one, which goes to we are all connected and coming in a full circle.

The theme in that book is that you should love the life you live. He felt that his life was pointless even though he changed many lives. Eddie struggles with himself. He feels he should have done something more meaningful with his life rather then working at the pier. He faces a man vs. Himself. Self conflict. It is almost the same as who he struggles with . Which is what I rote above.

The five people you meet in Heaven is about Eddie who dies trying to save the life of a young girl. The main theme relates to the fact that the story begins with the man dying so the start of the story is an ending. It is the story of a man's journey to eternal piece after he has struggled all his life.

The test of life is.. Whether we ourselves can live it.

He is against the fate of his wife dying from the brain tumor.  He faced the deep depression of the possible feeling that he lost love.
