When a person applies for a job somewhere he/she has to go through numerous stages before the actual hiring. When each and every test is cleared, the employee is given an offer to join the organization. This is generally done by issuing a letter called the “letter of appointment”. Its purpose is to inform the candidate that he/she has been selected for the job. Generally, the letter of appointment contains a greeting line that welcomes and congratulates the newly hired employee. It mentions the position on which the employee will work and the starting or joining date. It talks about the remuneration to be offered, leaves, responsibilities, working hours and the duration of the employment contract. At times the letter does not contain much information and may provide a contact number from where the employee can get the required information.

A business appointment letter is written to schedule the appointment for a meeting for the business purposes. You should mention the purpose for the meeting or any other event in the letter. Also, please ensure to describe your expectations from the meeting. Try to keep the language very sophisticated and tone of letter cordial if you are seeking an appointment for job interview. Please ensure to briefly mention your past experience, qualifications, and other relevant information.
