My fav is from one of my favorite authors. It was taken from old, made new, and re-newed, over and over, by many and many.

SOMETHING WICKED THIS WAY COMES
Crystal water turns to dark
Where ere it's presence leaves it's mark
And boiling currents pound like drums
When something wicked this way comes...

A presence dark invades the fair
And gives the horses ample scare
Chaos rains and panic fills the air
When something wicked this way comes...

Ill winds mark it's fearsome flight,
And autumn branches creak with fright.
The landscape turns to ashen crumbs,
When something wicked this way comes...

Flowers bloom as black as night
Removing color from your sight
Nightmarish vines block your way
Thorns reach out to catch their prey

And by the pricking of your thumbs
Realize that their poison numbs
From frightful blooms, rank odors seep
Bats & beasties fly & creep

'Cross this evil land, ill winds blow
Despite the darkness, mushrooms glow
All will rot & decompose
For something wicked this way grows...

Was actually a line of Act IV scene 1 of William Shakespeare's play Macbeth  "By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes".

Ray Bradbury in 1962 wrote that one line into an entire novel. About 2 young boys, "knowing" the wickedness of a travelling carnival, comming to there town.
That one line, that became a novel, became a movie in 1983, under Disney.
And has been given tribute to ever since

Thanks Maria, that is a really sweet poem. I like these lines the best- You'd swing upon a spider's thread,
And wear a thimble on your head.

One of my favourite poems is called 'The Lady of Shalott' by Alfred, Lord Tennyson. I like it because it's a tragic fairytale and I can still remember the first time I heard it at the start of the film Anne of Green Gables. There's also a great song about it called 'Shalott' by Emilie Autumn.
Another poem I really like is called 'The Laboratory' by Robert Browning, I studied this in English at school and it was my favourite in the poetry book. It's kind of creepy but really good! Both of them are from the Victorian era.

"Reflections" by gothic poet SorrowMan.I like it as it evokes memories of autumn ( my favourite time of year ) with falling leaves, cold winds and dark moonlit nights.
