Handwrite the letter of hardship when possible. If your handwriting is illegible, have someone else write it out for you. Keep the hardship letter concise and to the point. Loss mitigators do not have time to read a book about your life. Instead, create an outline of events that caused financial setbacks, along with steps taken to rectify the problems.
