If you follow the instructions titled Winding Bobbin... On the last step after you push the shaft to the left and start the machine, then use the foot control to automatically wind it. Instructions didn't even mention to foot control.
I'm having trouble inserting the bobbin myself, but the threading and winding wasn't too difficult after figuring out the foot control to wind it.
